Even though I am a total tomboy at heart, I still cannot get enough of pretty, feminine prints. From florals to polka dots, I love it all! But if I am going to wear something that brings out my more girlish side, I never truly feel like myself without adding a slight masculine touch, like I do here with my new Alaia trousers that I picked up at a vintage shop this weekend. They are total man pants, but with their soft woolly texture, high waist line, and ankle skimming length, they feel right at home alongside my most feminine prints.

This week I will be constantly hitting the books for class, but I have an upcoming shoot for Joie later in the week that I am pretty excited about since I love their clothes! Until next time, adios!

I'm ecstatic to have gotten to test out the new cargos over at James Jeans. I love the skinny fit, thick material, and rugged side pockets. A perfect everyday jean. And they are very tomboy and masculine, one of my favorite looks! I'm really happy this look is coming back in style. I don't remember the last time I had cargos!

Recently, I've been busy juggling work and school. It's kind of hectic, but I love how I'm never bored. There's always something for me to do, which is nice. I like being on the move. Working on this blog is one of my favorite parts of the day though. I like how I can be creative while playing around with it. Just being completely in control. I know everyone's still got the back to school blues so I made this little collage. Kind of makes you rethink your Fall wardrobe eh?

I almost completely forgot to post these photos taken in Baltimore, Maryland. While I was in New York, I started to feel a bit anxious and really just wanted to escape for a day so my sister and I took a coach to Baltimore. We got dropped off pretty far from Inner Harbor, but eventually made it there by bus. It was definitely worth the long hours sitting on our bums. Inner Harbor was absolutely gorgeous and calming. I love the smell of the water. A sweet mix of seafood and sea salt. Baltimore city, being one of the oldest seaports in America, has so much history and charm. The best part of our day was just resting at the top of a park overlooking all of Baltimore. I could have stayed there all night! It was really hot and humid so I stayed cool in a Calista silk tank and skinny jeans. Just really casual and comfy for the long rides on the coach bus to and from New York. I love supporting and wearing the clothes of the labels I work for. The brands I work with are usually the ones I would actually wear normally as well. Calista is one of my favorites considering the designers are so loyal and great girls to work with! We got together in New York and shot some of their newest pieces. I had so much fun. I loved the bright bold lipstick and smoky eye! The collection has a very tailored look with cool, classic cuts. Their lace and silk fabrics are their signature. Items that will never go out of style.

Just a quick little post! Wore this out and about over the weekend. I'm into mixing prints this time of year just to make my wardrobe a little more exciting and fun. I'm pretty sure the shoes are already on the feet of numerous grandmas. They are incredibly squishy, slightly squeaky, and "made for comfort." But hell, they look cool and feel amazing! Who cares if they were made for ladies 60 and over right?! Anyhow, like almost every other person this weekend, I went to the movies. I saw both Dinner with Schmucks and Eat Pray Love. Dinner with Schmucks was actually kind of funny at some parts. Others, not so much. Eat Pray Love could have been so much better, but I'm in love with Julia Roberts so it didn't really matter. The scenery was really gorgeous though. They really captured the beauty of Bali. I miss Bali so much, although the movie really makes me want to take a trip to India. It looks like a crazy fun place. Much like Malaysia, I hear the streets are chaos. Just a really loud mix of motorcycles and the smell of fried food vendors on the sidewalks. MY kind of place! Its insane, but I'm sure I'll love it. Currently, my aunt is in Shanghai. Apparently, everything is "daaaaamn cheap." Hmm, maybe that will be a holiday destination in the near future! It's hard for me to stay in one place for long periods of time. Enough of my rambling, I've gotta hit the sack. I have a shoot at 8am, which means getting up super early to beat traffic and make it there in one piece! Night night everyone!

In between appointments, my sister and I grabbed lunch over in Santa Monica, the amazing city by the sea! I was born in SM, so whenever I hit the boardwalk, a bunch of childhood memories rush back to me and make me smile. It was incredibly busy for a weekday. I did get to visit the new Santa Monica "Place" which is the new outdoor shopping center that took the place of the orginal mall. I ran into friends while there and we couldn't stop whining about how much we missed the old original mall, the one with the old brick steps with railings that doubled as monkey bars! The elevators and everything are still in the same places they were before which is comforting! It was incredibly bright and sunny. So refreshing from the usual overcast foggy weather (which is actually my favorite type of lighting for pics). H&M was having a sale so I bought these round sunglasses for only $1! They must have been so cheap b/c people aren't usually geared towards the "I wanna look like John Lennon" look, but I love them! We tried our best to take a few snapshots in the direct sunlight and actually ended up with some great shots!

Overall, it's been a nice yet long week filled with traffic, castings, and meetings. It was nice to go out for a night to the Forever 21 party launching the new Brian Lichtenberg collection. It was a really cute party, with Lichtenberg's designs on display and really yummy hor'd'eurves floating about. I brought along my sister Dylana, and two of my best friends, Pilar and Allegra. I'm so happy they could all come out with me. We had a blast dancing to the music and viewing the collection. It is full of fun, graphic tees displaying bold prints like the CAUTION tape design that Brian Lichtenberg also used for Lady Gaga's outfit in the Telephone music video. Most of all, it was fun to just go out and get a little dressed up for once. I decided to go all bodycon in a Stylestalker dress and Bally booties and bag. Here's a shot I took from the Forever 21 blog, THE SKINNY, as well as a collage of some party snapshots:

Dancing Queen

    (Queen's Wardrobe Dress)

This dress is just one of those pieces that makes you want to swing your hips and dance around like a crazy person. It was pretty fun taking these little snapshots! The dress is really lightweight and flows naturally. Queen's Wardrobe really nails it when it comes to cheeky prints and fine fabrics. Its over sized but cinches beautifully at the waist! Easy and pretty. It's been a long crazy week and I don't think my wardrobe should be the same lol. So far, I've already got 2 traffic tickets (in two consecutive days I might add) and I don't think I ever want to leave my house ever again in fear of getting in trouble with the law! Honestly, I must be cursed when it comes to driving my Prius around town. Think I will stay in and be a grandma! I don't think this rule will last long though, tomorrow night is the Forever 21 launch party. I'm bringing a few friends so I'm sure it will be heaps of fun! I've got a cool vintage piece I plan on rockin. I just hope I don't get a ticket on the way...

I stumbled upon some photos from my last few days in New York. Now I REALLY miss NY. Everything from the food to the endless opportunities to have fun. I even miss the overly crowded and stuffy rides on the subway. These shots were taken in Central Park and at the farmer's market at Union Square. Both absolutely beautiful and calming days. Constantly wearing my light button-ups, rocker tees, and mini skirts to beat the heat that leaves you feeling wet and sticky. Because I got to stay in NY longer this time than any of my previous trips, I really got to see the beauty of the city and really got to enjoy myself. I'm dying to go back, but I've got lots of work to do here! I've also got a really exciting campaign coming up for next year which I can't wait to share with you guys! Currently checking out the new designers pieces lying around my room that I've got some stellar reviews on. Busy busy busy. Besides all that, I'm really just taking it easy here at home, being around my family and friends. And getting back to playing on my guitar, something I really longed for during my stay in NY, is quite nice as well! Gotta get those creative juices flowin again! I'll keep you posted on my upcoming projects! :)

For now, check out my interview with The Fashion Spot HERE!

I'm currently obsessed with collecting rocker tees. My favorite right now is this Guns n' Roses one that I stumbled upon at H&M while in New York. They happen to be one of my favorite rock bands as well. I wanted to feel comfortable so I paired it with a pair of loose gray trousers. I've also been sporting this Native American cuff, by Free People, just about everyday now. As you probably already know, I will be in their October catalog. It looks fantastic, I'm super duper excited! Sign up early for the catalogs HERE so that you get a copy in the mail! Speaking of which, Free People is launching a new Vintage Loves line that will be hitting the web in about a week! Here's a sneak peek video of the new line just for you, featuring the Free People girls over in Philadelphia! There's a lot of cool leather fringed pieces, rugged denim, and amazing embroidered shoulder bags. All vintage inspired...can't wait to see them out in stores!

And some inspiration for ya'llll. Gotta love Erin Wasson's Texas charm, Jessica Hart's New York grunge looks, and Bambi's Australian beauty! Three beautiful ladies with incredible personal style!

So I am back home in California! It's nice and relaxed here at home, but I completely miss New York! Dylana and I had a wild and fun time...definitely one of my favorite trips to NY. I had to sift through so many photos, and I found a bunch that I love. Here are a few taken on the Staten Island Ferry and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was such a gorgeous day with a breeze, that did end up leaving my hair looking like a wild beast! Overall, it was a nice little break from all the heat. The walk across the Brooklyn Bridge really wasn't all that bad as I thought it would be! We conquered it pretty fast, but it was a major workout! But it was always fun looking forward to eating out afterwards! New York has such a wide selection of restaurants. I'm pretty obsessed with New York pizza with all the veggie toppings. Sooo good!
As you can probably tell, I've been living in short short shorts and loose button-ups. My favorites right now are the sheer ones over at H&M! Apparently, they are pretty see through and little girls always give me weird glares lol! Just being provocative ol'me. jk. Anywho, I've been looking for cat-eye sunglasses for quite some time and found the perfect pair over at the Free People store! My sunglasses collection has become quite insane. But there are so many shapes out there that I love! I still have so many New York photos to look through. I'm sure I'll find something post worthy again soon!
