HAPPY HALLOWEEN from us here at Volcom! Just last week we shot this fun short film on the roof of my building here in New York. With a crazy tribal inspired mask, I got to bust some moves! TRICK OR TREAT! Watch the video:
What Started as Picking Flowers
(Free People blouse, Koshka cords, Dolce Vita boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Accessorize ring)
I love days that are completely spontaneous, and whenever I'm with Claire, they always are! Walking around our neighborhood in the village, we stopped to act like complete dorks and sniff the flowers and admire the pumpkins, before ending up at the local park...only to find a BREADED figure. Sooo yes, we asked a random dude to take our photo. Turns out he was a super sweet road biker from California! Eventually we befriended three really awesome road bikers (we're talking bicycles not motorcycles haha). Being the overly friendly chicks that we are, we brought them to our favorite Israeli cafe before making our way to Williamsburg. There we played guitar and sang our own versions of everything from the Beatles to the Red Hot Chili Peppers! THINGS GET FUNNIER. To ease our hunger pains, we opted for mini cheeseburgers at (off all places) WHITE CASTLE, which was the only place open at 2 in the morning. All I can say is, it was a totally random, fun night meeting new people, making music, and eating at the most legendary fast food restaurant on the planet. I swear this kind of stuff only happens in New York! Oh yeah, I wore a really awesome Free People blouse and boyfriend cords. These pieces always bring me back memories of that evening!

Doing the Disco
(Disco Pony top (made by Zoey of Make Shift Model), Alexander Wang trousers, Walter shoes, Rebecca Minkoff bag)
Right now, I'm obsessed with anything that sparkles. So it's a pretty amazing thing that one of my closest friends from Spain, Zoey Bittleston of the blog Make Shift Model, designs the chicest sequin pieces you'll ever see, and all under the awesome label DISCO PONY. She recently made this custom-made blouse for me (a cropped top version of the "Natalie" dress!) and shipped it to my NYC address in adorable packaging along with a sweet note made out to "Natalie Balls Suarez." I cannot get enough of this girl, she makes me laugh like CRAAAZZY. Anyways, I sported this gorgeous statement piece out for a night of events with two of my favorite girls: Claire and Christina. It was one of the craziest nights ever. Somehow 3 really amazing events for brands we all adore were going on all in the SAME night, and so we actually went a little nuts and stopped by all 3. The close proximity of each also helped get the job done! We started off with a yummy Swiss dinner with Silvio Liu, hopped on over to the Ray-Ban event (held at a synagogue, how awesome is that?) before dancing the night away at the Paper mag party (where I stole those awesome party pics). Yes, us girls can be a little on the wild side when we want to be. Luckily, I had on my Disco madness, which was a huge hit. Speaking of which, if you want a beautiful custom-made Disco Pony piece for yourself, make your orders now! You won't regret it! xx
A Studded Sunday Brunch
(Stylists Own studded blouse, J Brand exclusive color jeans, "The Bowery" Rebecca Minkoff for Vogue Eyewear/CFDA limited edition sunglasses (available at Sunglass Hut), Rebecca Minkoff bag, Dolce Vita shoes, Jewelmint necklace)
Sundays in NYC might be my favorite. What I noticed most is that New Yorkers walk A LOT slower than normal. I mean, no one really has a set place to go. Everyone is just a lot more relaxed. My Sunday was absolutely perfect. It was probably one of the most beautiful fall days we've had so far. I love just strolling around my neighborhood with friends, getting sidetracked by picture-perfect moments, and soaking in the city's beauty. I feel weekends are just for that. My friends Justin, Claire, and I spent our Sunday afternoon having brunch at an adorable hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint called MUD in the East Village. I live for breakfast food and this place had just what I needed. I ordered the sourdough ALMOND FRENCH TOAST accompanied by a mimosa and coffee. I nearly died it tasted so good. Of course, I also had a bunch of bites off of my friends' plates! For our low key brunch, I went with a classic studded button up and J Brand exclusive skinnies (100% of the net proceeds sold will be donated to City Year in their efforts to prevent high school dropouts.) Clothes with a cause, can you say AMAZING?! Plus, they're extra comfy and super hot. Another weekend staple? My "The Bowery" Rebecca Minkoff for Vogue Eyewear/CFDA limited edition sunglasses which I shot the campaign for! Sold at Sunglass Hut, these cat-eye rocker shades are already becoming a NYC must-have :)
A Little Rock n' Roll
Just the other day, it was totally fine to walk outside with bare legs and a minidress. Not anymore! I'm already freezing my butt off in my new uniform of a giant parka and scarf. Also, I have a terrible cold thanks to the ridiculous amount of wind and rain we've experienced this week. Sitting in front of the TV...cradling a large cup of English Breakfast Tea (milk and sugar please!)..my way of getting well and QUICK. Anyways, here I am on my rooftop before the weather did a crazy turn a few days ago. Normally I don't wear a lot of black, but after receiving few new black pieces from LA based label, Elkin, I quickly found myself turning to the dark side. The baby doll shape is still new to my wardrobe, but I'm enjoying it's femininity. We're talking major movement and lots and lots of leg! Although the dress it totally girly and fun, black on black with red lips always gets me in a rock n' roll mood. Of course I had to throw in a few pops of color: leopard flats and this adorable Melie Bianco bag. Her bags are affordable, environmentally friendly, and downright amazing for running around the city with. I had the pleasure of shooting her latest campaign as well. Check out my photos for Melie Bianco here!
A beautiful weekend is ahead for us in New York! Hope yours is just as swell! I'm trying to rest up and get well before next week, which is bound to be spectacular.

Bouncing Around Bond Street
(Lulu's coat, Club Couture button down, MiH jeans, Tory Burch shoes, Botkier bag, Saint Claude necklace, Milor/Vanessa Mooney/Jewelmint rings)
In between work and castings, I've managed to squeeze in a few press events as well! I love visiting the beautiful showrooms and getting a glimpse of collections from new up-and- coming designers. Already, I have a stack of lookbooks that I've been flipping through, jotting down notes next to the pieces that grab my attention for next Spring. Best part though is getting to bounce about town with one of my very good friends Christina, who snapped up these photos of me on Bond Street. Always, I find this street quite magical. Just off the bustling shopping area on Broadway, it's surprisingly quiet, and the light somehow bounces off the buildings in an unreal way. Visiting these showrooms already displaying Spring collections has gotten me in a warm weather mood, but it's obviously just BEGINNING to be fall here. And so, take a look-see at the newest addition to my wardrobe: a rust fur collared coat. I'm kind of obsessed. Whenever I'm a bit under the weather, I'll throw on this bad boy and instantly feel like the boho rock chick I've always dreamed of. Oh and to top it off, I got a rad manicure from NCLA! The navajo print couldn't be more perfecto.
